Humber Valley Resort

Newfoundland, Canada

Humber Valley Resort

With over 200 luxury property sales in its first two years, Humber Valley was a development and marketing phenomenon given its location and challenges. Despite today being recognized as a uniquely beautiful area of Canada with no less than four UNESCO World Heritage sites in the province, the perception of Newfoundland was so unfavorable in Canada in 2002 that by the time Humber Valley Resort had sold its 300th property, only one had been sold domestically. The buyers came from 15 other countries ranging as far away as Asia, all of whom were spellbound by this idyllic Canadian hideaway five hours from London and two and a half hours from New York. Brian Dobbin’s vision of this lake-side resort in this special all-season adventure playground caught many people’s attention around the world.

Today, the resort has many full-time and vacation homeowners, and the spectacular championship golf course is still considered one of the best in Canada.

With 375 plots sold between 2002 and 2008, the resort community has extensive infrastructure including a 500-foot private two lane and sidewalk access bridge, 20 kilometres of roadway, its own water supply and system, an 18-hole golf course voted best new international course by Golf Magazine, conference facilities, restaurants, bars, its own beaches, and hiking trails. Humber Valley was voted Best International Development by the London-based International Property Awards in 2005.
