Elmsbridge founder Brian Dobbin’s Humber Valley Resort golf course which he developed and built in 2005 has once again been voted one of North America’s top courses.
This week North American powerhouse magazine Score Golf announced the River Course at Humber Valley Resort #7 of over 2,000 courses in Canada. Judged on their beauty, challenge level, design and strategy, the award is one of the most sought after in Canada. The exceptional course was designed by distinguished Canadian Golf architect Doug Carrick, who is known for creating courses of great character and beauty.
The 18-Hole, par 72 championship River Course measures 7,199 yards offering players dramatic views over the Humber Valley, including Deer Lake and the Humber River. Its layout, with gently rolling terrain, generous fairways and undulating greens, gives experienced golfers a welcome challenge yet also provides an enjoyable round for novices. Breath-taking views can be enjoyed from most holes culminating in the 18th where the backdrop rises to 400 feet in elevation up to the Eagle’s Perch clubhouse.
Today the Humber Valley Course is co-owned by Gary Oake who oversees the operation. His experienced team has kept the course in tip top condition and grown the membership and golfer numbers since purchasing the course in 2010. He was interviewed Thursday about the course and the recent award ranking.
